2017 Atlantic Employee of the Year
It's an honor to announce our 2017 Employee of the Year, Charlene Gueho from our New Orleans (MSY) location. Charlene's caring spirit doesn't go unnoticed, in fact, she was nominated last year by coworker Claudia Lovett and awarded an Attitude is Everything Pin. There were a total of sixty Attitude is Everything Pins awarded in 2017, but Charlene's touching story rose far above the rest, naming her as our Employee of the Year.
An employee at MSY who walks several miles to and from work each day continuously caught Charlene's eye. She would occasionally give him a ride when she saw him, but no matter the weather conditions, this employee was always at work for his shift despite not having any transportation. Charlene stumbled upon an opportunity to give him a used bicycle, but was disappointed when she found out the bike needed repairs far more than it's worth. Instead of giving up, Charlene decided to purchase him a new bicycle with her own money. Not too many people would have done the same, and this demonstrates one of the truest forms of the Atlantic Attitude.
A surprise celebration was planned for Charlene to present her with an Employee of the Year pin, plaque, many gifts, and lunch of her choice. In attendance for the celebration was the staff at MSY, VP of Sales and Marketing, Sue Sommers, VP of Regional Operations, Kurt Schmidt, Director of Sales and Customer Service Standards, Traci Fremin, and Charlene's mom and husband.
Charlene has been with Atlantic for nearly 14 years, and she says what she enjoys most about Atlantic is having coworkers who are like family. Thank you, Charlene, for going above and beyond for your Atlantic family.
