Atlantic Adopt A Family: Illuminating the Holidays for 17 Families
In a heartwarming display of generosity and community spirit, Atlantic locations across the country opened their hearts to participate in the fourth annual Atlantic Adopt A Family program, bringing joy to 17 families during the holiday season.
Thirteen of our dedicated locations, including Bedford, MA (BED), Charleston, SC (CHS), Casper, WY (CPR), Corpus Christi, TX (CRP), El Paso, TX (ELP), Washington Dulles, VA (IAD), Orlando, FL (MCO), Maui/Kahului, HI (OGG), Omaha, NE (OMA), Pittsburgh, PA (PIT), Santa Barbara, CA (SBA), Sarasota, FL (SRQ), and the Plano, TX Atlantic headquarters office, actively participated in the program this year. They embraced the opportunity to adopt families from their communities in need of a little extra support, providing relief from the stress of the holiday season and creating a brighter experience for them.
The Atlantic Adopt A Family program spanned from late November to late December, encompassing support and celebrations for any holiday observed by the adopted families. With an increased budget this year, each location generously provided their adopted families with up to two meals, collected their Christmas wish lists, purchased and carefully wrapped their gifts, and finally, personally delivered them.
The holiday season brought incredible joy as over 36 children experienced the excitement of unwrapping presents from their wish lists, creating lasting memories for these adopted families. The heartfelt stories of these families deeply touched our team members, inspiring them to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to this impactful program. The energy and enthusiasm of our teams were evident as they shopped and wrapped gifts with care.
Among the families supported, some were refugees seeking safety from challenging situations in different countries, while others have faced hardships through tragic unforeseen circumstances. Our Maui/Kahului, HI (OGG) team displayed unwavering dedication by supporting three families affected by the devastating wildfires that swept through Maui.
"Following the Maui fire, even individuals who were not directly impacted expressed great sadness over the extensive damage. Being able to help families impacted by the fire provided us with a great feeling. Wayne, Jacob, and Lynn assisted with the gift-wrapping process and displayed great enthusiasm throughout," says Jin Hee Chang, Base Manager of Atlantic OGG.
We are grateful to extend our hearts through the Atlantic Adopt A Family program to contribute to helping those in need in our communities and ensuring they have a memorable holiday season.
